Monday, October 13th

Today in class, there were four presentations. Mine, Tommy's, Hannah's and Toren's.

I think that I did well in my presentation. But apart from that I can't say anything, as Mr.Daly and the others are the judge of that.

When tommy presented, nothing was really new to me as he presented about Greenfoot right after me. Most of what he said was the same thing as me, apart from the fact that he explained more code than I did. I thought that I should've added code to my presentation at first, but then I realised that I would've confused anyone who was not doing code. I think that not everybody understood what Tommy was saying in his presentation. I know that if I hadn't learned code this quarter, I would not have understood much.

Hannah's presentation was interesting. I finally got to see something else that people were doing in this class besides Greenfoot. I found that what she did was very cool, actually. It looks interesting to learn and entertaining at the same time. After her presentation, I am debating whether or not I should try Photoshop next quarter.

Toren's presentation was also intriguing, but I was a bit confused. I understood that the program she was using ( Blender, I believe?) was a very complicated program to create animation. I think that animation is cool to be able to do, however it requires a lot of patience. From what she showed us, throughout the quarter she managed to work on two projects: a fireball, and a piece of wood being chipped off and Toren's name remaining. I am not criticising her rate of work; I can tell that to do only two (what seems like) small projects in the quarter, it must take a long time to do. I would never have the patience to work with a program like that. I like to do things that happen right away- which is why I enjoyed Greenfoot.

I think it was an interesting first quarter of the year. I definitely learned a lot. However, I'm not sure if I will continue with Greenfoot. Maybe I will start to work with Photoshop. Either way, I am not sure right now and I am going to Poland this Friday. I will keep up with the work and I will be posting on the blog the end of quarter report as soon as I can.
